I live part time in the Adirondacks, from May to November, and spend a lot of time in the woods, on trails, off trail and trail maintenance. I like hiking and meeting others, while sharing knowledge and gorp.
No, I am not. However I have hiked many peaks a multitude of times, some upwards of 15 or more. I have 7 to go, 8 with MacNaughton, the 47th 46'r
I had some health issues for a couple of years but now I'm back on track. I'm slow but getting stronger and am looking forward to more hiking. Finish the 46'rs on Colden Work on the Firetowers list, Work on the Adirondack Hundred Highest (completed about 60 pks) Whack Algonquin via the slide Whack Upper Wolf Jaw via Bennie's Root Canal slide Hike Sabbleback and Basin backwards - not literally, but S, first and then downclimb the crux...
Too Many to list. Since I'm not goal oriented, I have a few favorites - Coon Mtn on Halds Rd, Catamount, Seymour, Hurricane, Jay, Iroquois, Indianhead (Ausable Club).....
I am an advocate for trails and trail maintenance. I am currently Asst Trails Chair for two clubs, plus I maintain the Saint Regis trail and three lean-to's. I share my space with two insane cats, that sometimes join me for a hike around the yard. Please call me if you're interested in hiking as I'm not always online: 518-873-2119 Best times, 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
We offer a variety of hikes, from easy ones with upwards of 500 ft elevation gain, to hard ones, including all the High Peaks and some bushwhacks as well!! We sometimes go out to lunch or dinner afterwards, too!!

Hi Ellie..I was looking at the upcoming hike in May and wondering what pace the group keeps?? I havent climbed since last fall so I will be probably slower since it will be my first hike of the year?? Also are you spending the night somewhere or is this a day trip?? thanks Jo Ann
Hi Elie, I just joined this group at the suggestion of one of my friends. Hopefully there will be two more after me to join. It sounds very diversified and fun. I did try to "friend" you on FB but not sure if it went through or not. Looking forward to getting aquainted with you and the rest of your group this coming year. And I do like to hike but gently because I have had some work done on one of my knees.
Hi Elie,
I have hiking and backpacking experience, and am trying to get my schedule organized and would love to lead a hike as you said," you are looking for leaders. You can email me back at [masked]
What's your PT for?? I'm going for knee; damn getting old.
I would like to plan a northville-plac
id thru hike at the end of may or early june
Hi again Elie, Just be in contact when you want to and we'll go from there... Joan
hey thanks! just got back form paddle with meet-up paddling gorup- I had no idea this stuff was out there! Just accepted your friend request on FB. Hope to hike with you all soon
Elie, I would post an idea so you don't have to do too much work. If anyone would be interested they can join me and my husband.
Hi Elie, Welcome! You are the 1st person to become a member and you sound like a great fit. I also have knee arthritis and do PT on my own. I can ride a bike or hike, but not very far or up & down many hills. Will you be able to get to the Meetup on 10/15?
Hey Elie, thank you for your greeting. I don't really have leading experience. What I do do though :-) is help my husband when he leads hikes from time to time. We are actually going to backpack on 8-10 October. We are driving up on Friday and park below the Garden. Saturday we are hiking Sadlleback, Basin and Haystack. Sunday Marcy, Skylight and Grey. Then back home on Monday. If you'd like we can put it out there for those who would be interested. Let me know.
