We are looking for a new Organizer for this group.
This group is for adults with ADHD and the people they are close to. We believe that these two groups of people will benefit the most by supporting each other and learning from each other as a single community. This enables us to leverage our relationships and collective wisdom for the growth of each member.
To facilitate this we have a number of community building blocks:
1. Meetings for adults with ADHD
2. Meetings for adults who have a close relationship with an adult who has ADHD
3. Meetings for couples in which one or both people have ADHD
4. Special events where everyone can come together and get to know each other
5. Online discussions on this website
We are excited about the possibilities for this community. Please join us!
Marcel and Ose began this support group with the idea that we would build a community that offers support, connection, education, and resources for fellow adults who have been affected by ADHD.
Ultimately, the ideal is that from this community would merge a model of being that could inform the outer society. That rather than label, blame, judge, hold to rigid ways of operating in this world – those participating, with or without ADHD, would learn to observe without judgment, be creative with their resources, learn from one another, build on passions, hone skills, enjoy one another, and collaborate on various endeavors for the benefit of interesting and meaningful projects and outreach.
We hope that this group will thrive by its diverse leadership – formed from within and without. Led by those with, without, and professionals working to help this field. Ultimately, it might be great to have a board of professionals helping to guide the educational piece.
THE VISION FOR ADULT ADHD SUPPORT COMMUNITY
Why this meetup group
To provide a supportive space, community, and access to resources that enable those affected by ADHD or debilitating distractions/disorganization/impulsivity to find information, connection, support, and resources so they not only survive but thrive.
Because there are many people trying to go the journey alone – and it is much more fun, interesting, and fruitful to help one another.
Because there are very few support groups for Adhd out there
Because the path to help for ADHD is not an easy one. And perspective, good information, and support can make all the difference.
Membership is open to everyone
