We explore some of the issues raised in the last meeting, namely that 70,000 years ago Homo Sapiens evolved for the last time, this time losing all remaining "Caveman" instincts, becoming "Symbolic" hominids that think instinct-less "free" thoughts all of our lives. We are in fact "Cavechildren" who never develop instinctive obsessions with fire, cave, spear and so forth. We identified the concept of "Narrow" AI with "computer instincts."

Can computers have free thoughts? Do humans have free thoughts? Is creating AGI merely freeing the constraints on narrow AI and, if so, how is that done? It appears that it was but one small final change that occurred 70,000 years ago . . . . what was it (and can it be applied to creating AGI)?

Everyone should prepare a five minute brief (1-3 Powerpoint slides) on their take on the topic.
