About us
San Diego WordPress Meetup is where San Diego’s WordPress folks come to learn, share, and meet the people behind the sites, shops, and plugins you see every day. 🤝
Whether you’re brand new to WordPress or you’ve been building for years, you’ll find a friendly room full of people who like swapping ideas, solving problems, and leveling up together. 🌴
What we do
- Practical talks + demos on everything from block themes, design, and UX to plugins, performance, security, SEO, content strategy, and AI. 🎤
- Show-and-tell / roundtables where you can share what you’re building, get feedback, and pick up ideas from others. 🧠
- Networking that’s actually useful: find collaborators, freelance gigs, jobs, clients, and people who get it. 🔗
Who it’s for Site owners, freelancers, agency folks, developers, designers, marketers, content creators, and anyone curious about WordPress. Bring your questions, bring your wins, bring your stuck moments, bring your laptop if you want. 💻
If you’re into WordPress (or adjacent tools) and want a solid local community, come hang. 🙌

Building WooCommerce Stores That Actually Perform
Ansir Coworking, 7670 Opportunity Rd #255, San Diego, CA, USA well-built WooCommerce store is fast. When one isn't, WooCommerce itself could be the reason, but often the choices around it: the theme, the page builder, the host, and a plugin list that grew one quick fix at a time can be the culprit.
So this meetup is about making wise decisions when running WooCommerce stores. What does a store need to run fast from the first order... to the millionth (that would be nice, right?), and what's worth fixing when it doesn't?
We're also excited to welcome a special guest, Brian Coords, Developer Advocate at WooCommerce. Brian spent years building WordPress sites for agency clients like UCLA and Harvard before joining Automattic. There he connects the engineers building WooCommerce with the developers and agencies who build on it.
After the main segment, we'll open things up for Q&A and discussion with Brian and the room. Bring your slow store, your plugin horror stories, and the client question you've never had a great answer for.
Whether you're a developer, agency owner, freelancer, marketer, store owner, or thinking about selling online for the first time, come join the conversation.
