Mt Williamson, PleasantView Ridge, Pallet mountain to Burkhart campground  11 miles 3500'
This is a fun up & down ramble, over the northern crest of the San Gabreils, partly on trail, partly cross country. This trip features a long traverse starting at the Islip saddle heading up to the top of Mt Williamson. 8214'

From there, hiking along the mostly trail less rim of Pleasant View Ridge between Mt Williamson & Burkhart Saddle, with continuous views of desert & high country. Once we are at the saddle, we are going to head down the Burkhart trail through the campground to the cars.

Directions: Take the 91 to the 15 north to the 138 heading towards Palmdale/Wrightwood. Turn left on the 2 heading towards Baden-Powell. Islip Saddle is about 10
miles past this. Mile marker 62.50

It's not in the Antelope Valley. You aren't anywhere on my route so it isn't really possible to carpool. The best way for you to get there is to take the 210 to Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2). Then you drive to Islip Saddle which as Rod said is Mile Marker 62.50. It's also the intersection with the closed Hwy 39 to Azusa, so it's very easy to spot.
