Hike up Mt. Baldy via Ski Hut and return via Devils Backbone Trail & ski lift.
Distance: 7.5 miles RT
Elevation Gain: ~4,000 ft.
Min Elevation : 6,103 ft.
Max elevation : 10,064 ft.
PLEASE READ!!! FOR BEGINNERS: If you have not done a high altitude hike with at least 3000 ft elevation gain within the past month or so, this is not the hike for you.
Time on the trail: 5 to 7 hours.
Trail: Some pavement, fire road, but mostly single track and rocky trails.
We will hike via the Ski Hut Trail to the summit and return via Devils Backbone & ski lift.
One way cost of ski lift is $12.
Adventure Pass is required for parking at Manker Flats.
PLEASE - Know your limits and abilities. Bring plenty of liquids and sunscreen when hiking. Check weather conditions and dress accordingly and be aware of your surroundings at all times. It can be windy at the Summit or develop thunderstorms, so bring layers/rain gear.
