When all of the excitement on land has dried up, it’s time to consider going for a dive. Discover whether life really is better under the sea during a two-weekend scuba certification experience with PCH Scuba (http://www.pchscuba.com/). The first weekend will be split between a local classroom and swimming pool, where you will meet your water-savvy instructors, soak up their introduction to dive theory, and practice basic technique. The following Friday, a ferry will whisk you to Catalina Island, where you will spend two nights at the lovely Hermosa Hotel (http://www.hermosahotel.com/) in Avalon. After three, thrilling open water dives with the instructor and group on Saturday, one on Sunday, and free time to do some underwater (or on land) exploring of your own, you will officially be scuba certified—and in our opinion, just a bit more awesome.
