Afterhello.com: A Woman's View on the All-Important First Impression

We’ve all heard the phrase “you never get a second chance to make a good first impression”, and perhaps nowhere is this more true than in the dating game. Most women will tell you that within a few minutes of meeting a guy, they can tell if a he is A) “relationship material”, B) “in the friend zone” or, C) a “total creep”.

AJ, Jordan and Johnny from The Art of Charm, a popular men’s social-coaching company, believe that this is such an important moment that they’ve asked for a female perspective from Thu-Anh, a member of the Art of Charm team with a background in cognitive psychology.

Thu-Anh (affectionately known as “T”) met AJ and Jordan while attending the University of Michigan in 2006, after finishing her degree in Biopsychology and Cognitive Sciences. In 2008, she started working with The Art of Charm to leverage this degree and help provide a female perspective on social dynamics.

According to T, the three biggest mistakes men make when first approaching women are:

  • Giving off a “creepy” vibe – such as leering from across the room or making an awkward approach
  • Trying too hard to impress – bragging about their biceps, buying bottle service and talking about their money, or using cheesy “pickup” lines
  • Lack of respect – smothering girls, treating them like they’re private property, or not listening to their thoughts, feelings and emotions

Based on these findings, the guys at the Art of Charm have teamed up with Thu-Anh to create a program named “Afterhello” – a FREE 90 minute seminar in the Los Angeles area that addresses these concerns and teaches men to:

  • Use attractive body language to turn that “creepy vibe” into a confident presence
  • Drop that overly serious “trying to impress” mindset, and instead flirt in a playful and fun manner
  • Become genuinely interested in a woman and start to form a deeper connection

More information on the program can be found at www.afterhello.com.
