Code is read more often than it is written. This is why keeping your code clean is such an important part of creating maintainable and long living systems. Consistency, naming rules, commenting habits, function organization, exception handling – all contribute to code readability and quality.

Upon Andrey's return from speaking at both CodeMotion (http://berlin2015.codemotionworld.com/), one of the biggest tech conferences in Europe and CleanCodeDays (http://www.cleancode-days.de/) in Munich he will pass through Romania to host our first set of community workshops.

Andrey will share emerging news and insights especially around the management aspect which addresses the cost reduction by clean software and how can you measure those advantages monetarily.

In this introductory workshop Andrey will show you why it is important to write clean code and provide simple rules to achieve that by documenting and presenting architecture, encouraging code reuse and design patterns all complemented by his passion for application performance analysis.

What you will learn:

The impact of bad code
• How to make your code consistent
• How to communicate within your development team
• Naming, comments and function best practices
• Why the aesthetics of your code matters!

The workshop will be a mix of theoretical explanations and practical code examples written in Java and/or Ruby.

Hands-on sessions will involve pairing at laptops, so please bring your device - as long as half the participants have laptops there will be enough, and we’ll provide power so don’t forget to bring your charger. There will be slides, there will be discussion, there will be code — and there will be fun!
