Dynamic Governance: A Method for Agile Organizations
Learn a simple process you can use immediately to tighten up your sprint planning meetings and your retrospectives. Learn also about a new strategy to scale up Scrum to an entire company – even outside the software development area. The tool is Dynamic Governance (DG), a method of governance, decision-making, and project management, developed in the Netherlands based on cybernetics and systems theory. A key innovation is its structural approach to improving communication and decision-making. DG supports the broad implementation of Agile principles. This mini-workshop will introduce you to the principles of DG, and give you hands-on practice with a new decision-making method. If you wish to read something in advance (optional), see The Creative Forces of Self-Organization (http://sociocracyconsulting.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/CreativeForces_9-2012_web.pdf).
Sheella Mierson, Ph.D. is principal at Creative Learning Solutions, Inc. (http://www.clsolutionsinc.com/), a partner in The Sociocracy Consulting Group LLC (http://sociocracyconsulting.com/). She helps companies implement Dynamic Governance in support of their strategic goals, and to create adaptive and effective organizations where all members’ voices matter.
