At this event myself and two colleagues would like to share some lessons learned on a recent project.

On this project we introduced a number of Agile aspects and XP practices that are not the norm at our company (Gorkana).

I will explain the theory behind some of the decisions we made and my colleagues will share there practical experience on this project.

We will discuss the following topics in relation to the project:

  • Using Scrum and Kanban
  • High level requirements\stories
  • Sprint planning
  • Getting Started with Pair programming
  • TDD and BDD
  • Code quality and Code reviews
  • Retrospectives
  • Budget constraints
  • Scrum tools
  • 'When will it be done' estimation
  • Was the project considered a success?

This will not be an extensive lecture on each topic listed above, we will simply share some of our thoughts and experiences. That, combined with an engaging group discussion, should make for an interesting evening.

The agenda will be as follows:

  • 6:30pm - Doors open
  • 6:45pm - Talk begins
  • 7:20pm - Lean exercise
  • 7:40pm - Break
  • 7:50pm - Talk continues
  • 8:20pm - Wrap up
  • 8:30pm - Pub

Drinks and light snacks will be provided.

I hope to see you there...

Thanks, Daryn
