We are looking for people interested in Aikikai style Aikido -- beginners and experienced practitioners welcome. If you are unfamiliar with Aikido, you are welcome to stop-by and observe as many classes as you wish. Aikido comes from the ancient Japanese tradition of the samurai - service. Aikido is a non-competitive martial art based on turning an attacker's power back against her/him. The study of aikido increases flexibility, endurance, and balance. Most students find that it reduces stress and increases the ability to focus. Aikido can be a very effective form of self-defense. However, that is not the goal of aikido; rather we strive for agatsu, the control of ourselves. We are a affiliated with the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (ASU) and Aikikai Foundation (Hombu Dojo, Tokyo, Japan).
