This Meetup Group was inspired by LINDA HOWE, best-selling author of “How to Read the Akashic Records” and "Healing with the Akashic Records" (published by Sounds True).

We began in August 2010 as a monthly discussion group about books and resources on the Soul's Journey and especially the Akashic Records. See our DISCUSSIONS/Message Board for a list of films in this category as well as a link to Barbara Schiffman's Amazon Listmania List on AKASHIC RECORDS BOOKS.

In 2012, this group continues to share resources, events and information on the Akashic Records. In addition, organizer Barbara Schiffman teaches Akashic Records training classes for those seeking to learn to read and work with the Records for themselves &/or others.

Barbara's Akashic Intro workshops provide basic info on the Records in a half-day seminar format plus a personal experience of using the Pathway Prayer Process (developed by Linda Howe) to access your own Akashic Record. This is a good place to start for newcomers, and Intro Workshops are held several times a year in the LA area (as well as elsewhere when hosted by others on request).

Barbara is a Center for Akashic Studies Certified Teacher who has been taught and mentored personally by Linda Howe. She also teaches Akashic Records Practitioner Trainings (which include Certification via Linda Howe's Center for Akashic Studies) as well as Akashic Foundations Workshops on Past Life Healing or Ancestral Clearing through the Records. In addition, Barbara's personally developed and teaches Special Topics workshops -- including The Akashic Muse -- Collaborating with Your Records for Writing & Other Creative Endeavors, which she teaches twice a year in LA (and elsewhere on request).

We also invite trained Akashic Practitioners who are actively working with the Records to attend our new (in 2012) monthly Practitioner Evenings. These evenings offer ongoing support for Akashic Practitioners who are using Linda Howe's Pathway Prayer Process to Access the Heart of the Records(c). In addition to meeting other Akashic Practitioners for support and reading swaps, we also open the Records of a topic or issue together and get guidance as well as energy through multiple angles. Guests who are not working with the Records themselves are welcome to attend as "invited guests" if there is space -- email or call Barbara for info.

ABOUT THE AKASHIC RECORDS:

According to Linda Howe: The Akashic Records are a dimension of consciousness that contains a vibrational record of every soul and its journey. This vibrational body of consciousness exists everywhere in its entirety and is completely available at all times and in all places. As such, the Records are an experiential body of knowledge that contains everything that every soul has ever thought, said, and done over the course of its existence, as well as all its future possibilities.

In the process of accessing, or "opening," the Akashic Records, we transition from a state of ordinary human consciousness to a state of Divine universal consciousness in which we recognize our Oneness with the Divine at all levels. This state of consciousness allows us to perceive the impressions and vibrations of the Records. In this way, the Records have served humanity throughout its unfolding by being an extraordinary state through which we can receive Divine illumination at a manageable rate and integrate it into our human experience. The introduction to The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ by Levi H. Dowling has perhaps the best description of the word: Akasha is a Sanskrit word, and means primary substance, that out of which all things are formed. . . . It is the first stage of the crystal- lization of spirit. This Akashic, or primary substance, is of exquisite fineness and is so sensitive that the slightest vibrations of an ether any place in the Universe register an indelible impression upon it.

When we talk about the Akasha, the primary substance, we are referring to energy in its first and earliest state--before it has been directed by our individual thoughts and affected by our emotions in this lifetime. This energy is a quality of Light in both the physical and spiritual senses. It is a quality of aliveness, or vitality, individualized uniquely as specific souls.

The Akashic Records are the Light Body of universal self-awareness. As such, they contain the universal consciousness, with its three main components of mind, heart, and will. The Records also contain the radiant vibrations of Light that all things generate. Every time we access the Records, our awareness is affected by this quality of Light, and we become "en-Lightened" by it. When this happens, the effects of the Light become evident in our thoughts and emotions (and in those of our clients), and we begin to experience an increased sense of peace and well-being.
