About us
From curious food explorers to seasoned epicureans, our members share a passion for discovering exceptional dining experiences throughout the Tallahassee and surrounding area. We gather to enjoy great meals, engaging conversation, and plenty of laughter in a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
Our events range from casual breakfasts and leisurely brunches to lively happy hours, food festivals, and elegant dinners. From time to time, we also host potlucks and themed gatherings in members’ homes, thanks to generous volunteers who open their doors. Whether we’re visiting a beloved neighborhood gem, an exciting new upscale restaurant, or a time-honored local favorite, we’re always eager to try something new.
At its heart, this group brings together interesting people over memorable food and drink. Events often fill quickly, so we encourage you to join the waitlist—plans change and spots frequently become available.
Don’t see one of your favorite spots on the calendar? We welcome all members to step up and host an event.
Please take a moment to review our Meetup guidelines and etiquette. These policies help ensure a positive experience for all members.
1. RSVP & No Show Policy:
To give everyone a fair opportunity to participate, please RSVP only when you are confident you can attend. Your RSVP is a commitment to be there. If your plans change, update your RSVP promptly to keep it current.
If you are bringing a guest, you are responsible for their attendance and RSVP commitment as well. The host may request your guest’s name in advance.
For events with limited capacity—such as restaurant reservations—please notify the host as soon as possible if you need to cancel. Hosts take time to coordinate reservations, venues staff appropriately based on our numbers, and fellow members may be waiting for an open spot. Repeated cancellations within 24 hours of an event are discourteous to the host and those on the waitlist. Members who consistently cancel late may lose the ability to RSVP for future events.
If your plans change on the day of the event, please message the host directly rather than simply updating your RSVP.
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for no-shows. No-shows negatively impact our group’s credibility with venues and may jeopardize future reservations or discounts. If you accumulate two no-shows within a short period, you could be removed from the group.
2. Photo Requirement:
For the safety and comfort of all members, we require a current headshot on your profile so we can easily recognize one another at events. Please review your profile photo and update it if needed.
If you prefer not to display a photo for personal reasons, contact the organizer directly to discuss your situation. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis. Members without a photo may not be permitted to attend events hosted in private residences, at the host’s discretion.
3. Using the "Comments" section:
Please use the comments section to ask questions about the venue, clarify event details, or coordinate carpooling.
The comments section should not be used to debate etiquette, criticize other members, or direct others on how to behave. If you have a concern about another member, please contact them privately and notify the leadership team as appropriate.
4. Respect & Consideration for the fellow members:
We are here to enjoy great experiences and build friendships in a welcoming environment. Please treat fellow members with courtesy and respect at all times.
This is not a singles or dating group. If you express interest in another member, please do so respectfully—and graciously accept their response. Any reports of harassment will be addressed promptly and may result in removal from the group.
5. Membership
To help offset the annual cost of maintaining the Meetup platform, we collect $6 per year in membership dues. New members are asked to submit payment within 30 days of joining. Members who do not pay within that timeframe will be removed from the group.
6. Guests
We welcome members to bring a friend, co-worker, spouse, or partner as a guest. It’s a wonderful way to introduce someone to the group and give them an opportunity to meet our members and experience an event firsthand.
To ensure fairness to our paying members and to respect event capacity limits, guests may attend a couple of events before we ask that they join as a member if they wish to continue participating. We appreciate your understanding and support in helping us maintain a balanced and welcoming community.
The organizers reserve the right to remove any member who does not adhere to these guidelines.
Thank you for helping us maintain a welcoming, respectful, and enjoyable community for everyone.
