We are a kinky, poly, bi/lgbt/queer/pansexual discussion group.
Between 5pm until 7pm we have a semi-formal discussion around a topic which changes each month. Depending on the numbers we will sometimes split into smaller groups. If you want to take part in the discussion please make sure you arrive by 5pm. At 7pm, we bring the discussion to a close and chat informally. If you would rather not participate in the structured discussion then feel free to join us at 7pm or after.
Umbrella or Who are we?
We are a group of people who get together to have sex-positive discussions around kink, bdsm, polyamory, open relationships, bisexuality and lgbt issues. We consider ourselves an umbrella group made of people who identify with or practice alternative sexualities: kinky, poly and bi/lgbt/queer/pansexual people. We ask that you identify with at least one of these identities or practices if you want to take part.
Ethics?
We say we are ethical because in our relationships and sex practices we value open communication and informed consent above everything else. We are also an egalitarian group and do not tolerate sexism, biphobia, homophobia, transphobia, racism and other forms of oppression. Some of our discussions may centre around these topics. We don't ask anybody to be perfect and flawless, just aware of these issues and willing to work with them.
Munch or What do we do?
We meet once a month at the Penderel's Oak pub to have a structured debate around a specific topic. We discuss for about 2 hours and then break out. After that the meeting is over and you can either stay for social time or go off. Why do we have structured discussions? In normal munches and meetups people socialise but may not have the chance to talk about things they consider important to them. In this group we aim to create a space in which we can talk about these things, share our experiences and points of view. We choose to structure the discussions to make sure we get to talk about the topic in more depth and that people get a chance to share what they want to share.
The next meetup will be on March 25th. The topic of discussion will be "Rules".
