Alevtyna Dobina, one of the best and brightest top young pianists from Ukraine, makes her San Diego debut as she performs Rachmaninov Sonata No. 2, Op. 36 in B flat minor, Chopin Sonata No. 2, Op. 35 in B flat minor, and Kapustin Variations Op. 41. Joining us on the program are four outstanding San Diego pianists: Yeewen Hsu, Alex Marsh, Tessa Heunis, and John Gutheil.
Born in Kiev into a family of musicians, Alevtyna is proud to represent two countries—Austria and Ukraine. Alevtyna studied at Kiev Comprehensive Specialized Music School, Kiev State Conservatory, St. Petersburg Comprehensive Specialized School–Lyceum at St. Petersburg State, and National Musical Academy of Ukraine. She has received many honorary awards of recognition, and is the recipient of many awards throughout the world.
This FREE recital takes place in a beautiful 300-seat space with a 9' concert grand piano taking center stage. This is a wonderful opportunity to socialize with friends from this group as well as others who will be coming out for this exciting recital.
Doors open at 6pm for a 6:30pm start time, so give yourself time for parking.
