Speaker Bios
Dave Ward is a Sr. Manager responsible for product and engineering for several services within Amazon EC2. Dave has spent the last 5 years building various aspects of the Amazon EC2 offering, developing features and services like the Amazon EC2 running Windows business (and building a program to on-board other new software vendors), new instance types, new regions, new pricing models, and much more. Prior to Amazon EC2, Dave also helped launch Amazon Fresh and served as a Software Development Manager and Software Developer at a healthcare IT company (Cerner).

Stephen Elliott is the Sr. Product Manager for Amazon EC2 Spot Instances. He focuses on creating new ways to make spare EC2 compute capacity useful to customers with High Performance Computing and batch processing applications. In a prior life, Stephen was a nuclear submarine officer aboard the USS HENRY M. JACKSON (SSBN 730).

Kiran Meduri is a Sr. Software Engineer on the Amazon EC2 team. Kiran has spent the last 3 years creating new and innovative services like the Amazon EC2 Reserved Instance Marketplace. Kiran has been with Amazon for more than 9 years working across both Amazon Retail and Amazon Web Services. Before Amazon Kiran spent several years working at two consulting companies working on UI / .NET development and later became a founding developer for a consulting startup called Epiance Software.

Aaron Steers is the Business Intelligence Manager for Amazon EC2. He is working to build up Amazon EC2’s business intelligence warehousing capabilities to help drive key decision support across all of Amazon Web Service’s Compute Services like Amazon EC2, Cloud Watch, Auto Scaling, Amazon SWF, DirectConnect, and many more. Prior to Amazon EC2, Aaron was a Vice President – Business Intelligence Reporting Manager at the Bank of the West leveraging tools like MicroStrategy, SQL Server, SASS, and other BI technologies.
