de Hortus Botanicus has a lovely event on this weekend, about old and forgotten varieties of vegetables and herbs. My friend Michael is the gardener who has organised it and I have seen many of the plants he's been growing on, to show this weekend. It should be a lovely event with films to watch, plants to see and ideas for food. There's a guided walk going on (in English) and I shall be there between 1:30 and 3:30pm. Sorry it's short notice but maybe some of you would like to catch up there. Some details are on my recent blog post: http://urbanherbology.org/?p=1919

Please note: You will need to pay entry to de Hortus if you don't have a year pass. The year pass is very good value by the way.

Incidentally, the meetup.com organisation began due to 9/11, ten years ago as a way to use the internet to get people off their computers and meeting up in person. I have certainly met some wonderful people via the site and am grateful to the organisers. I am pleased that de Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam gives me an excuse to suggest an event on 9/11 ten years on.
