Monthly Meeting - March/2013

March comes around and this time we want to talk about Open Source.

Our speaker will be Michelle Sanver (aka geekie) and she will be sharing with us her experience in contributing to Open Source Projects. If you do not yet contribute to any projects this talk will point you in the right direction and get you excited to start.

This month will be hosted by Copernica at their great office on the Ruijterkade.

Michelle is a code-passionate colourful geek, so much so that she actually calls herself 'geekie'. She has been programming since basically forever. Michelle works as a PHP developer and she's eager to share her knowledge with you.

Talk: "'ProTalking' your way into Open Source"
So, you want to join the open source party, but you're not used to every man and his dog looking at your code. You keep putting it off, you don't know anyone involved in the project, you might be a burden...
If you want to get involved but keep talking yourself out of it, let me show you how to take that first step. I'll cover the mechanics of contributing, from saying hello and installing the project to selecting a bug, your first pull request and code review.
