Talk: "Environments, line up! Vagrant and Puppet 101"
Cut on the time you and your whole team spend on setting up a development environment for every new project. Take away the differences between your development systems and the production machine. Get rid of all the different PHP versions on your local machine. Vagrant and Puppet help you standardize and isolate the software you need to run your application in development mode.
When leaving this session, you know how to keep your development environment clean and standardized through your team. And with any luck, you’ll do the same as I do: fire up a Vagrant box for every project you work on!
Speaker: Jelrik van Hal
Jelrik van Hal is a Software Engineer at Ingewikkeld. He is a community enthusiast, long-time enabler at PFZ.nl and event manager for PFCongres . Although his experiences take him far and wide, Jelrik specializes in data architecture, REST APIs and Symfony development. Jelrik loves to work with the best tools out there and makes a habit of refining and renewing his toolkit every day. Vagrant, Puppet, PHPStorm, Composer, Capistrano, Git and Github are just some of the tools of the trade that he came across. He tweaks them and incorporates them into his daily work.
