AB Monthly Meetup - 2014 Kick Off!

January 8, we will be kicking off 2014's Analyze Boulder, in a new space! Thanks to Scrib for hosting us!

Grant Grigorian will describe the data analysis/visualization challenges that come up when trying to model and track new business customer acquisition and marketing ROI/attribution.

Seth Spielman's presentation shows how to use a novel geospatial algorithm to improve neighborhood-level demographic and economic statistics.

Scotty Martin will be presenting on the use of data/results in Peak Academy, a boot camp to teach city/govt workers lean/agile practices, and also state and city public-private partnership opportunities for 2014.

Brian Long will talk about tips and tricks to deal with address inconsistencies, and an overview of how the postal code system works.

We're looking for one or two more presenters. If you have something to present, please send us a message at

As always, Eric, head brewer from Kettle & Stone Brewery, will be on hand, pouring one of his brand-new selections!

Thanks, happy holidays, and see you January 8!

Great presentation, Scotty. Another thought on 'how to get started' and 'how to get people involved (for free)': try to pull together as much data as you can to release publicly. Then do so with the express goal of staying in touch with the people doing interesting things with your data.

A series of serial hack-a-thons over time (working on the open data) might be an interesting twist. Each new hack-a-thon would attempt to build on the work of the previous hack-a-thons. All would be working to stated goals for the organization. All code would be open source.

As usual, good stuff. I could have listened to all four presenters for much longer than their Justin-assigned time. All really interesting. That Justin is tough.

Daniel - Contact the presenter. Start a discussion thread. Schedule a special-interest-group for breakfast or lunch.
