Self-Expansion is Liberating

"A true yogi feels his heart beating in all hearts, his presence in all movement." -Paramhansa Yogananda

This week we will explore a central yogic topic: expanding one's awareness of other's realities and beyond is essential to knowing the One reality (or heart) within all- and how we can go about doing this.

I have found in my own experience that practicing Self-expansion this is truly a "way out" from my own all too human worries- and has afforded a richer and more adventurous life too. The "Self" mentioned is with a capital "S" becomes the yogis are referring here the spirit- which transcends any one individual's personality quirks.  Saints and sages of the ages are unanimous; from the Buddha to St. Francis to Gandhi, that oneness comes from an open heart "expansion of sympathy, of love" and uncaring/indifference ultimately leads to separation and inner suffering. The news worth celebrating is that yoga gives us the tools and ways to know that what we need is already within us and also the awareness of the divine presence everywhere.

Our meditation group is regularly attended by a very caring, relaxed, and non-dogmatic group of souls and please know it's there for you in the mid week to have a little haven of peace to come
