They're back! Tuesday Night Race Series, aka Beloved Bonny Sosa

Alrighty, gang, the schedule is up for this year's TNRS. Get excited. Because I find it easier to keep track, I'll post individual meetup events for all of the races.

FYI: All races start promptly at 6:30pm on Tuesdays. If you tend to freak out about crowded parking situations - seems to be a common source of contempt for Anchorageites - get there well before 6:15.

And the 2014 TNR schedule is as follows:
Sept 9 - Kincaid Park
Sept 16 - Kincaid Park
Sept 23 - Tozier Track (Tentative)
September 30 - East High (Tentative)
October 7 - Russian Jack Springs Park (Cartee Fields)
October 14 - Service High (Tentative)
October 21 - Service High (Tentative)
October 28 - Kincaid Park Costume Run
Come out wearing your Halloween costumes.
November 4 - Kincaid Outdoor Center
AWARDS CELEBRATION BANQUET & DESSERT POTLUCK - bring your favorite dessert. Pizza will be provided. Unfamiliar with Bonny Sosa goodness? Read about this spectacular community running event here:

TNR has been going on each fall in the Muni for decades and is a total (exhausting) trail-running blast. If you're new to town, make a point to come out to the first one on Tuesday, Sept 9 at Kincaid. I bet you'll be hooked.

How to find the Trail Runners at these things: Last year, we made Kenton wear his bright orange beacon jacket and just congregated around him before the start. Seemed to work well. Kenton, please update us on the status of said jacket. I hope we don't need to create an alternate plan.

Post-race, a few of us seemed to go grab food/beer. I imagine this tradition will continue, though someone else will have to spearhead it this time around. (I'll have to immediately rush home to bed, boo.)

For experienced Bonny Sosa-ers, what did I miss?

It looks like I won't be able to make it tonight. I'll see you guys on Thursday for the singletrack run. Have fun!

Have to skip it tonight, caught the office flu bug. Have fun, I'm bummed to miss out! See you next week.

My strategy for dealing with the parking issue: go a bit early and park half a mile or more from the race parking lot and then enjoy a nice warm up run to the race start and a nice cool down run after. ;-)
