Any time in the summer.
Camping at Tonsina Point and hiking to Caines Head (Seward), biking to lake at top of Powerline Pass and watching sheep, canoeing Swanson, Keseugi Ridge, biking to Red Mountain Mine from Jakolof Bay, "training" through Europe and hiking the Jungrau (Suisse), exploring Normandy, Cinque Terre (Italy), the Zillertal and getting lost in Genoa (ending up at the docks instead of the hotel, ending up at a home for the mentally ill in Salzburg instead of the hotel.) Driving the ALCAN and spending 1/2 day at Liard River River Hot Springs and the Edmonton water slide park.
From a friend in another hiking group.
Love to hike, backpack, bike and ski. It's great to have so many options to explore and some are close to home and one hour, others can be days. I'm a teacher so have lots of time in the summer.
You not only stay physically fit summer or winter, you meet interesting people with similar interests who also like the outdoors.
