The lead topic for the March Android IL meetup will be Android fragmentation, handset compatibility and app testing.
The meetup will be sponsored by Perfecto Mobile (http://perfectomobile...) and will be hosted by Afeka Engineering College (Auditorium).
As a special meetup offer, Perfecto Mobile will give away seven hours of Handset Cloud service to all participants. The Handset Cloud service allows remote access to hundreds of real handsets operating in real networks around the globe, including most Android models.
The agenda is:
18:00-18:30: Gathering and networking
18:30-18:45: Personal introductions
18:45-19:00: Android fragmentation challenge (Michael Vakulenko)
19:00-19:30: Challenges and solutions of mobile application testing (Dan Shoshani, Perfecto Mobile)
19:30-20:00: Open discussion and networking
Thanks to Afeka, the max number of participants increased to 100.
As usual, bring your apps and devices to show them off at the meetup.
When arriving, look for the meetup signs and proceed to the college Auditorium.

Thanks for the interesting discussion. As I mentioned in the meetup, eCamp is looking for someone to work at the Hi-Tech summer camp this July-August and teach basic Android development to teens from all over the world. Contact me for details and visit www.eCamp4u.com
The issue of fragmentation, though nor new, was presented clearly and effectively by Michael. Perfecto Mobile provides a valuable service to mobile developers (there are also competitors and alternatives available out there).
Maybe there is a solution by Google:

I enjoyed the meetup ; the lectures and discussions were interesting. I appreciate Michael for organizing this. I came specially from Haifa. I believe that there are many north (and non north) developers who skip this meetup because it is difficult to arrive at 18:00. If it is relevant from the organizers, I would suggest to raise a poll on how many want to hold next meetups on friday. (I twice attended shishi-techni conference of anashim& machsevim, and there were quite a lot of attenders)
I guess most of the thankful words have been already told to the organizers and lecturers, but but I'd like to thank personally for an idea realization, eventually android should become one of the leading platforms and each aspect of its lifecycle is very interesting.
In addition: MobbieNet provides consulting and developments services for distributed systems world where mobile devices begin to concur its share highly fast. Don't hesitate to contact us, please see my profile for more details
Indeed, the meetup was very interesting, both the lectures, and the small talk with the people afterwards.
I think we all must be very thankful Michael for this effort.
The only thing that is left now is to know when the next meetup will be held.

thanks to the speakers, this issue of fragmentation is one of the true obstacles for any supplier of apps, it would be nice if we had some more info on how to not only see we have a problem (perfectomobile), but how to also solve it when possible, or avoid it.
