YouTube Direct is a platform for soliciting user-generated videos. It's been used by news organizations all over the world. It has multiple pieces such as mobile applications written for Android and iOS as well as a server component that runs on Google App Engine. Using the YouTube APIs, the different components of YouTube Direct are able to upload videos directly to YouTube.

JJ is a developer advocate for YouTube APIs. His goal is to foster a rich set of third-party applications built on YouTube APIs. He's a well-known member of the Python community. He blogs at jjinux.blogspot.com (http://jjinux.blogspot.com/) on topics such as Python, Ruby, Linux, open source software, the Web, and lesser-known programming languages.

Many checked-out Android (and mobile-related) books have made their way back to the Alameda library, if you browse the technical section on the second floor, don't forget to also check the section of technical books in the "New Arrivals" section on the ground floor as well. For some reason, many of those books are still being kept in that section. Many of those books are thanks to the donation of O'Reilly. Again, library cards are free and you do not need to be a resident of Alameda to get one.

There is no food budget/sponsor for this event, but there are many restaurants and eating establishments less than a block away from the location.
