The AndroidMakers Meetup with the Intel Android team

Make time to connect with the group with a little show and tell, during the week of Google i/o (across the street at the W Hotel). It's been a while since we've met up, I'm positive you have been up to interesting things. Bring your projects to share, I want to see what everyone's been up to! I'll show my project: What's 2 stories tall, has 15 industrial projectors, 45 cores and runs Android 4.2? Find out this Wednesday before it goes up in Chicago later this month.

Dinner, beverages and space are provided by Intel Corporation, catered by the W Hotel.

5:00pm - Meet, Greet, Eat (limited number of seats for dinner, RSVP, wait list is automatic)
5:30pm - Opening and Welcome AndroidMakers
5:40pm - Member Show and Tell (5 minute presentations/5 minute feedback)
6:30pm - Intel presentations:
Matthew K Hansen, Intel, Android full stack product engineering
Kaveh Nasri, Intel, Android media components development,
OpenGL 3D Graphics Driver development

This is just for the AndroidMakers group, and space is limited. I'll be checking the RSVPs myself, we're physically close to Google I/O, and I expect some shifts on the day of the meetup, so, if it's full, get on the wait list, I may be able to get you in.

Let's meet up for some show and tell with excellent food and venue with our AndroidMakers and Intel's Open Source Technology (Android & Graphics) team!

Wifi peer to peer will not go away, holds great promise and delivers new capabilities that deserve the attention of the developer community.

If anyone missed the project names or wants to get involved, the most vocal project is https://commotionwireless.net/
They were interviewed on Democracy Now and appear to have been originally funded with public money. If you'd like to use a mesh network now, without rooting your phone, the people at ServalMesh have done an excellent job of minting an apk that just (f)ing works... if you know how you want to use it and can navigate their labyrinthine menus.

Open Garden and the Android Open Source Project itself are worth mentioning. Open Garden appears to have come from the grassroots directly and all of the mesh systems simply put an Android user interface on features the AOSP received downstream from The Linux Project. Which wants you to be able to phone home, even if you are E.T.

    Thanks Shane!
