In this "Introduction to AngularJS" you will be learning all the basic elements of creating a simplified meal ordering app for local restaurants built with AngularJS and node.js backend.

The course will be presented as a hands-on workshop where you will get to build your own application following step by step instructions.

Each step will introduce new features of AngularJS and we will be there to guide, advise and explain on how to get the most out of AngularJS.

Some of the concepts that will be covering:

  • Data Binding
  • Form Validation
  • Services
  • Unit Testing
  • Route Navigation
  • Filters
  • Directives

The class has limited numbers to give you a real opportunity to learn. Refreshments will be provided!

Hi - apologies if this isn't the correct forum, but i'm looking for a trainer to deliver a private Angular JS event for a client in Ireland - Anyone available or can help me out?

Oh, yes and thanks as always to our Organizer, Josh, who keeps the whole AnguarJS London MeetUp running and has single handedly helped make this one of the biggest more successful AngularJS Meetups in the world!

By the way, if anyone is still confused about NPM and Bower from last night, here is an article that might help: http://tech.pro/tutorial/1190/package-managers-an-introductory-guide-for-the-uninitiated-front-end-developer

Had a great time, I agree with the other comments about pacing and instructions. I am looking forward to getting this app finished!

Thanks for the feedback. Do keep it coming!

I agree that the format can be improved and I like the idea of breaking the steps into chunks that have an explanation, an opportunity for trying out your own ideas and then a demonstration of a solution.

A nice ice breaker to a new and emerging framework.

First of all, Kudos to Pete and Josh who are fantastic hosts - thanks for organising this!

Enjoyed it a lot but I think the format could be improved, perhaps something like:
    - Every step introduces a new concept so it should be explained
    - Everybody tries to find a solution, but for no longer then 5-10 min
    - A solution is given and the group moves on:)

Of course the steps need to small enough - or time extended but roughly this works best (tested on internal workshops!).

I think the scale of the project to be completed in the time scale was too ambitious for most (me) of the audience. That said, having a Git repo and notes to take away will be useful for self training later on. Please don't forget to update the instructions with the typos and comments noted during the session.

Glad you enjoyed the Devoxx Demo. We will be running another "Introduction Course" later in the year. Meanwhile we have the a "Unit Testing in AngularJS" coming up in June.

I don't normally pay for anything but books and cheap conferences but I was so impressed by the AngularJS demo at DevOxx 2013 and I think I can use it so I'd like to attend. Too bad there are no places left.

    Noob ALERT!

    February 6, 2013

  • Peter Bacon D.

    Hi Adam
After trying to squeeze too much into my talk at the last MeetUp I think we will be playing safe on this course and aiming at people who are either completely new to AngularJS or have only just started using it. So I suspect you are already ahead of the game on this occasion.
We would like to start running a series of training courses going forward though, so HTTP interceptors and directive building will be among those, as well as testing, transclusion and dependency injection.
    Pete

Pete, how deep are you going with this? I've been playing around with HTTP interceptors, building directives, and such (maybe not 100% right though), so would you be reaching that level and above?
