Hack Night!

AngularJS Hack Night! Is your New Year's Resolution to get more done on that app? Bring a project you're working on, we'll supply the pizza and Angular experts to help field your questions. The space in building 46 is set up for working on code projects, with tables, power, monitors if you want them, and plenty of wifi.

Space is limited so we are trying some rules to encourage hacking on active projects. To join this event, you must post a link to code or an outline for the project you're planning to work on. Don't have a current project? Tell us about what you'd like to contribute. We'll give priority to folks working on active projects first, until we run out of space. RSVP by Jan 3, 2012!

This meetup was a blast. It was held in a really cool "innovation garage" themed room that inspired innovation. Lots and lots of people had projects to demo. Definitely should have another meetup like this in a few months. Thanks, Google host.

Awesome. Unlimited pizza and Google employees were extremely helpful and friendly.

Not unlimited. Just a metric crapton of it. :-)

Whenever I come back from an angular meetups I'm always energized and left wanting more.

I probably would have done well to actually pick a project and stick with it, but I enjoyed talking with everyone about their projects and helping them. Fun night! Internet was a problem, that needs to be sorted out before the next time, but I really hope there will be a next time! Great to get input from the core team over code, and they were very helpful.

Great event. Thanks to Naomi, Igor, Misko, et. al for putting this together.

Hmm, just saw this meetup and it looks like it would be fun. I've been meaning to explore angular. I've got a couple of projects that would be fun to implement /refactor to use angular, and within the scope of an evening. Unless more space is arranged for, maybe some of us waitlisters could meet at Red Rock Cafe and play around with angular there. Maybe at 7 or so, since there won't be any supper.

I might be up to head over afterwards with mike. You guys should post the event on g+ to host the overflow. And again let me know if anyone there would like to contribute to a AngularUI project!

Hey guys, I'm not gonna make it to the meetup (or Red Rock) tonight. Looking forward to the next one.

Anyone want to carpool from Fremont? I can drive :)

I'm already confirmed for tomorrow night. I'll be working on a couple features for Razoo.com.

I'll be pairing on a couple of these features, so my question is, can my fellow devs (just 2) join me tomorrow night? I promise I won't let them eat!

    January 7, 2013

    • Naomi B.

As long as they already know AngularJS and will be working on a project -- yes! (There will be plenty of pizza and wifi ;) ). Can you let me know their names so we let them in?

It would be good, if some one make presentation about modules and injectors; and how to write a directive(if time permits ..)

    January 7, 2013

    • Naomi B.

We won't have a presentation or speaker at this event -- it's hacking time only.

Does any body have where I can find reference to code samples in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxuN6WO3tIA
AngularJS MTV Meetup: $provide Methods / Building Up with AngularJS (2012/11/13) of GAPI sample. I was not able to read the link due to contrst used (Green on Red background). Thank you very much for info...

Meetup is telling me that RSVPs are closed, but I just saw a post on Google+ saying there is still room. I'm a team lead at ebay who is going to be in charge of using Angular to redo public facing portions of ebay. I also have an Angular based personal project that involves showing the health inspection scores of restaurants near you (HTML5/mobile web). Hopefully there will be extra room...
    Thanks,
    Jeremiah

Sounds great! I've just added you to the list. Looking forward to seeing you there.

I would like develop an application that is GM connected car app. This app will enable app users mark important point in an youtube or similar video and enable to review them (like a summary of video). I would appreciate it very much if you can add me to your hack night attendees.

This sounds like a great idea. I've added you to the list -- come ready to hack :)

      January 3, 2013

  • Edgar M.

So what does it mean to be on the waiting list exactly. Does that mean better luck next time? :)

    December 18, 2012

    • Naomi B.

I'm reviewing responses to the signup question and giving priority to people who have a clear idea of what they'll be working on. We're trying to set this up as an active work night as opposed to a tutorial for beginners. (Edgar, your project looks great. I have just added you.)

      Awesome thanks Naomi

We have a few spots left... I'm still reviewing replies to the "what will you be working on" question. I noticed that some folks added themselves to the waitlist without answering the question or letting us know how it relates to Angular. Please sign up for the waitlist and let us know what you plan on working on, and how it relates to AngularJS. I'll have final RSVP acceptance notes out by Friday Jan 4.

So I'm curious, how is this going to work? Are we going to have a few different hack projects going on simultaneously or something?

    December 18, 2012

    • Mike M.

I have a couple ideas of my own for work. If they don't pan out, I'd be glad to help. (I assume you're talking about me)

      Dean, I'm planning on attending.
