Title: Promises in AngularJS
Promises is a recent concept in JavaScript, and allows you to develop for an"'uncertain web". In this presentation, Tiang will explain:
• how to create and use a promise
• understand the scenarios to apply promises
• how to link in other Angular events
Along the way, we will understand more about the AngularJS framework, general design patterns, and asynchronous programming.
Bio: Tiang has been running his own Digital Agency for the past 4 years and is currently working at a startup Ratemyagent.com.au (http://ratemyagent.com.au/) He's passionate about helping businesses understand how to use technology, and has previously spoken on & taught topics like web, JavaScript and mobile applications at international conferences and local user groups. You may have also caught him as one of the presenters on iiNet’s GeekSpeak TV show.
Speaker 2: Braiden Judd, Suncorp
Title: E2E Testing of JavaScript with JavaScript: Testing Angular with Protractor
This presentation will give a brief introduction into Protractor. What does it do? What is it good for? What is it not good for?
Bio: Braiden is a software engineer at Suncorp Cloud Team. He develops APIs for Suncorp's internal cloud based on AWS. AngularJS is used to build UIs to simplify the usage of the API and allow developers to spin off, configure and monitor their AWS instances. He is also an avid cyclist and a maker of quad-copters in his spare time.
