A session covering the nuances of watches/$digest and their nuances would be nice.

Would be nice if a little bit more advanced topics were covered.

Small introduction to interesting and useful directives. Some Angular specific design patterns and anti-patterns. Specific gotchas about scopes (why to always use a ., or how to use $parse to avoid those pitfalls). Patterns on successfully creating truly reusable directives that can be easily composed (I have yet to master this one). Just some of the things that interest me specifically.

I agree with Eli. Wednesday's presentation was way too basic. I didn't learn anything from it. The only thing I took away from the main presentation was "Angular is much more efficient than Java". I got no insights into Angular or any ideas/tricks on how to code better. The Protractor presentation was cool, but the rest of the session was uninformative.

Here is the code for the protractor locator finder. It should be released as part of protractor soon.

    https://github.com/andresdominguez/protractor/tree/addExtension

    1. Get the code
    2. switch to branch 'addExtension'
    3. npm install
    4. Launch the element explorer under protractor/bin/elementexplorer.js

Looking forward to seeing as many of you that can make it tonight. Also, in an effort to get more speakers, I have created the following speaker intake form:

    http://bit.ly/ng-nyc-speaker

and, if you can recommend someone that we should reach out to regarding a talk on AngularJS, please submit your recommendations:

    http://bit.ly/ng-nyc-recommend

    Thank you!

Can I have your ticket please?

      June 17, 2014

if you are on the wait list, my recommendation is:
    "YO! BUM RUSH THE SHOW!!!"
There were so many empty seats for the March presentation. You can easily get in using Jedi Mind Trick, but they might let you in anyways if && when there are free seats.

      Thanks for the heads up!

I'll bet a better seating guarantee, is to prepare a lightening talk! This indicates to Dan that you are more likely to show up.

Hello all. I'm interested in collecting a list of potential AngularJS speakers for future meetups and conferences. If you, or someone you know fits that bill, please let me know. In the meantime, we are considering having hack-a-thons at future Meetups to make up for the lack of speakers. Look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday..

I could give a short talk in the near future about building, testing and deploying one angular app that contains a desktop and mobile versions but it also build to Android and iOS (maybe windows as well, but I haven't test that yet). AngularJS + Ionic + Foundation + Cordova + Nginx + Protractor.

Hi Daniel - while it wouldn't work for full speaker slots, just a thought if you're finding smaller talks hard to come by -- reserve 3-5 slots from the 200 ppl capacity when posting the meetups, and once at capacity, the only surefire way to get in would be if you're one of the 3-5 lighting talks selected to present. I'm pretty sure you'd be able to fill lightning talk slots that way (I keep seeing meetups being overbooked).

150 people on the wait list. Well that's a bummer that I can't attend. Well anyway if you guys are interested I will be speaking at the node.js meetup the next day about angular.js and how it integrates into the full stack development. Matt said he will increase the capacity for people on the wait list: http://www.meetup.com/nodejs/events/168146432/

is asp.net mvc dead? Is Angular holding the knife?

one doesnt really have much to do with the other. i use both together in all my projects. i do however use angular templates instead of backend razor templatinh for most cases. there are still cases where sever side templates should be used such as when a piece of markup is conditional but private and should not be served in the first place (rather than serving it then hiding it, which is not safe)
