THIS MEETUP WILL TAKE PLACE AT RACKSPACE !!

We are going to explore some of the frameworks that use AngularJS to build phone hybrid apps. A hybrid application is a native application built with web development skills: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript that are later packages into a native container. There are many tools and frameworks available to help you create Mobile applications. In this Meetup, we’ll look at those that use AngularJS.

Some discussion points

  • Advantages and Pitfalls of hybrid applications
  • Apache Cordova vs PhoneGap?
  • Ionic, Onsen UI, Mobile Angular UI, etc
  • Angular as a platform for frameworks

Getting Real: AngularJS client for OpenStack Swift

Later, we are excited to explore a real application build with AngularJS: Swift is the scalable object storage component in OpenStack (similar to Amazon S3). It provides a REST API, and Rackspace team wrote an AngularJS client for it. The client allows you to browse/read/write/delete the objects in Swift.

We will look at the design of the application and in particular how it has been tested using a mocked implementation of Swift.

!!! RACKSPACE INVITES US !!!
!!! THE LOCATION FOR THIS MEETUP !!!

The Rackspace office is on the 6th floor of Pfingstweidstrasse 60. That's the same building as Digitec and people should take the lift in that end of the building. If you come with tram 4 and enter from Pfingstweidstrasse, you must walk through the building instead of taking the first lift you see.

!!! PLACES WILL BE LIMITED !!!
The room at Rackspace is limited, so we need to limit the number of members. We apply a FIFO: First come, first-served. Sorry for that.
