Often when there is a crisis, whether natural or man-made, the animals are the last thing on anyone's mind. In order to prepare for a possible disaster, it seemed like a good idea to get a local group trained and ready to help the animals. Being an abolitionist vegan (someone who works towards ending speciesism and animal use) in North Texas increased awareness of the lack of knowledge most of us have towards understanding how animals are being affected in the modern world. Most of us do not realize how our purchases cause so much suffering on the other end of the process - an animals often pays the price for our poor choices or lack of knowledge. With a group of concerned people with a heart for animals, we can help increase awareness and change the destructive paradigm of animal use.
We will follow the philosophy of ahimsa, meaning to do the least harm.
We believe in ending the use and commodification of other animals.
We will not support racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, or heterosexism, or any other discrimination.
We are against speciesism.
We recognize that all exploitation is harmful and all exploitation is related.
We support nonviolence and believe veganism is the way to peace.
We reject regulation of exploitation.
