Hi everyone.

Time for our book group newsletter:

A) Our official April discussion is happening this Sunday at 3 PM. We will be discussing "By the Lake (That They May Face the Rising Sun)? by John McGahern. We are meeting at the downtown Borders location in the caf? on the second floor. There is no coffee tasting this time, so don?t accidentally show up early. Remember that parking in the structures is free on Sunday?yay!

B) Our June selection poll is closing Sunday at 12 noon, and I will be announcing our chosen book. We have a three-way tie for first place right now between ?Ciderhouse Rules?, ?Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?? and ?Cat?s Cradle??we need your vote now more than ever!

C) Our July selection poll is now open. Get on our group page and vote in our July poll. The winner will be announced right before the May discussion of ?Brideshead Revisited?. Here are this month?s choices:

?The Thousand and One Nights? by anonymous
?What Maisie Knew? by Henry James
?Beloved? by Toni Morrison
?The Postman Always Rings Twice? by James M Cain
?Fugitive Pieces? by Anne Michaels
?A Clockwork Orange? by Anthony Burgess

D) ?Ulysses? Polls closing: Members voted to read "Ulysses" by James Joyce, when given a choice between it and similarly complicated novels. Since most of us agree that this book merits special attention, I'd like to give everyone a chance to vote on how and when we should approach this selection. These two polls will also be closing Sunday at 12 noon.

Upcoming Book Discussions:

?By the Lake? by John McGahern- Sunday, April 18th at 3:00 PM
?Brideshead Revisited? by Evelyn Waugh- Sunday, May 16th at 3:00 PM
?Siddharta? by Herman Hesse- Wednesday, May 26th at 7:30 PM

Upcoming Supplementary Events:

Thanks and hope to see many of you this Sunday! Don't hesitate to email me with any questions or comments.
