Crank up your ISO, bring a tripod or flash if you have 'em, and wear some warm clothing (20 deg. Far. will probably drop a few degrees after sunset). Snow is forecast for Monday, so let's take advantage of it before it melts into a muddy mess. I'll be collecting $1 per person to help pay for the Shutterbug meetup website.

If you worry about moisture getting on your camera or lens, bring two gallon-sized Ziplock bags. I cut an opening for my lens at the bottom, center of the gallon bag. I fold 'em and carry two in my camera bag in case one gets wet or someone needs one. Bring at least a couple of microfiber cloths to wipe melted flakes off your camera or lens. If you have a real camera weather cover or know that your camera is weather sealed... ignore the baggie thing.

A flashlight or headlamp in your pocket might come in handy after dark.

If you have a favorite winter coat, hat, boots, etc. that you'd like to model in... maybe update that Facebook or photographer-in-the-field profile pic... wear them. Selfies or portraits of other photographers shooting are encouraged.

I work until 5 and I'll be there by 5:05PM. If you have ideas or things in mind that you'd like to shoot, add a comment or throw them out when we meet. This one isn't as much about structure and a firm agenda as it is about getting outside and shooting in the snow and maybe catching lights or people walking in the streets. Sunset will be 5:53pm.

Some ideas...

Nickels Arcade, "Tripper's alley" (Liberty, behind MI Theater), State Street and Liberty, Biomedical Science and Research Building (glass, lights/reflections), "Halls of Justice" (A2 Ann Arbor Municipal Center), Law Quad and the Ross Business School Buildings; lights downtown can be interesting, State Theater, taillights along Washtenaw/E. Huron, roof of parking structure on S. Thayer near E. Washington. We won't be able to hit all of these, but a few or more should work.

We can grab some hot chocolate, coffee, tea at 7 @ coffee shop downtown if anyone wants to warm up and chat afterward. Want to plan out another meetup? Get your winter shooting in before the groundhog and Mother Nature turn everything into spring.

I may not be able to answer a slew of questions should they arise during the day on Monday. I'll sent out my cell # to atendees a couple of hours before we meet. I'm sure we can figure out our agenda at 5:05.

If you sign up as "attending" and need to cancel, please do so by 3PM Monday for this small meetup. I would hate to have no-shows if there's a waiting list. If an opening pops-up by 3, someone on the waiting list would have a chance to make arrangements to drive in the snow, park, etc.

**parking meters go until 6PM on most meters downtown (check your meter), and there are many public parking structures (they charge past 6). Don't park in a UM staff lot unless you have a permit or want a ticket.
