I just started photography. My wife got me into it when she needed an assistant for a wedding she was shooting. I do a lot of computer and design work so I'm a fast learner and before I knew it I was knee deep in the technology of digital photography and I saw the potential in it for artistic expression. I also had a blast helping my wife and it's awesome to share this hobby with her.
I use a Nikon D70 and my favorite lens so far (I haven't used many) is a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX for Nikon.
I'm most interested in landscape shots, trains, and HDR photography. I also started assisting my wife on her shoots. I enjoy the artistic expression of photography gives me. It's more about expressing who I am and what I find beautiful rather than capturing a moment in time. But I also like the idea of giving people something different to look at that they may not have seen before or changing their perspective on what "looks good"
I would like to become much better at using the rule of 3rds and composition for artistic shots and artistic portraits. I would also like to learn more about lighting and become better at using HDR or layering exposures in Photoshop to create more dynamic lighting effects. I also would like to learn more about how SLR technology works and know the fine details of photoshop as it pertains to photography particularly tips and tricks for post production editing.
I'm an Instructional Designer just entering into the world of photography via my wonderful, and professional photographer wife. I'm also a father and I enjoy trains and the outdoors.
