I accepted the finance and ownership of our Shutterbugs group in October 2022, and have moved new event posting to [The Photography Guild](https://www.meetup.com/the-photography-guild/) meetup group.

A few years ago, I served as an Event Organizer for what I believe was the most active Meetup photography group in the USA.  In the West Suburbs of Chicago, for many years, we averaged over four scheduled photography events per WEEK.  Members could attend for free whatever activities aligned with their interests - from workshops to 'theme' model shoots to shooting live stage performances to officially covering huge Chicago events to nature adventures to urban explorations.

January 2022, I created my Ann Arbor based photography Meetup group - **The Photography Guild**. I would like to get merged together Ann Arbor Shutterbugs and The Photography Guild.

The Photography Guild was set up unlike most other Meetup groups, where this is literally YOUR photography group because EVERY member can freely post any photography activity they want to learn, try, explore, practice, share, or teach with other nearby enthusiasts.

Initially, I posted the same events in both groups.  Keeping both groups in sync became difficult, therefore I no longer post events in Shutterbugs. Merging these into a single group greatly simplifies event postings, attendance management, and specific event communications.

Please consider joining **The Photography Guild**, where that group posts all future events, and where YOU can freely post anything you want to learn, try, explore, practice, share, or teach with other members.

Between all of us, we can make *The Photography Guild* the most active photography Meetup group in Michigan.
