Since 2000, the non-profit ShelterBox, has delivered humanitarian relief following more than 180 disasters in over 80 countries, including Haiti, Japan, Turkey, Brazil, Kenya and the U.S., has grown into one of the most innovative and effective aid organizations in the world.

ShelterBox ( ) volunteer, Bill Woodard will share how about how ShelterBox helps families who are made homeless by disasters and rebuild their lives; a story of inspiration and dedication. Learn how you can make an impact and join the cause through many volunteer opportunities, whether by raising awareness for the mission or delivering aid to disaster survivors in the field.

    I really enjoyed the presentation and will be making a financial contribution to them. I really like the attitude of their organization: help the most disadvantaged, work with the local fixers, do good and get the hell out. Their work also shows that smaller private humanitarian organizations can do tremendous much more quickly because of their hands-on/boots on the ground approach

      Becky and Meg, volunteering for Shelter Box is not so easy, unless you can move to Cornwall in the UK to help pack boxes. ;-)

      They do however need Ambassadors, who are getting the word out about ShelterBox and keep speading the word in local communities across the US. Although, if you are a great fundraiser, they would like to hear from you as well. Check for more information.
