Hailo App! Find out how the Hailo guys taxied to success - AppFusion

Hear from the guys behind

Hailo at the next AppFusion meetup

(@ new venue too!)

Tuesday July 10th, 7pm

"Dryland", 96 High Street Ken W84SG

You can't have missed those yellow-painted London cabs driving around bearing the Hailo name. And by now I'm sure plenty of you have used the app too, but if not, it's a super-slick way of hailing a London cab. It is one of the best London-living apps out there.

Hailo's been put together by an impressive team of techies and cab drivers, all nicely propelled along by VC backing and super branding. There's much to learn from these guys, so why not come down and say hello at the next AppFusion? We'll be hearing from Hailo product supremo George Berkowski, and maybe a few surprise speakers too.

You'll have noticed we're trying out a new venue, namely Dryland, a rather fab and very luxo cafe-cum-serviced office in High Street Kensington. Dryland are kindly laying on some drinks and nibbles for us too, so I'm sure they'd be tickled if you asked them about membership (starts at £139 per month, which is super for a mobile working space in Kensington).

So that's the gist of it, but stay turned for more details nearer the time - we'd like to hear from anyone with a London centric app who wants to showcase it on the night.

In case you have not heard yet, Springboard have launched a new 3 month mobile accelerator and are now looking for 10 awesome startups to invest in. The programme kicks off September in London, and all AppFusion members are welcome to apply.  If you are interested, deadline is 22 July with applications here: (any questions, tweet @springboardnews / @jessinblue)

Hi my name is Meryam and I'm the co-founder of a young start up that brings gamification to the world of weight loss. Our product is revolutionizing the weight loss industry by making nutrition fun, social and engaging. A first test on a sample population has shown very promising results. We are currently speaking to a VC about a first round of funding.

We've designed an app prototype and are now looking for an app developer (iOs and/or Android) to join our team. We can offer a salary and/or equity and most importantly the opportunity to build a product that can have a huge impact on society. Get in touch now to learn more!

Very well-organised, an excellent insight into Hailo's product development process, and a good mixture of knowledgeable attendees from various professions.

Many thanks to George Berkowski for his fascinating and inspiring presentation. I think everyone left with huge admiration not only for Hailo the product but also Hailo the company. Thanks too for the wonderful staff at Dryland, particularly Will, Luci and Alan and everybody serving - I don't think we've ever been so spoiled for food, drink and good company. I'd recommend the venue to any Meetup group.
