Arduino Long Term Project Meetup

Meeting this Tuesday: May 15, 2012

We will go over building and using a hardware support module for the Arduino SDK (probably an external LCD display for the xmega). We will then do the same thing using the Atmel ASF system and also implement the LCD dsplay as stdout for C/C++ programs.

The XMEGA arduino support appears to have been updated, and I have modified to boards to support the XMEGA arduino SDK without modification. The XMEGA arduino system does not support the USB port on the A3U processors, so I have added an FTDI usb->serial converter for use programming the xmega via arduino.

We will also review the xmega datasheet for the ATXMEGA256A3U and discuss how the event and DMA systems work as well as going over the differences between the MEGA and XMEGA hardware environments.

Because of work commitments, I have not ordered boards as yet, but we will review the boards against everyone's project requirements and order Tuesday night.
