WordCamp 2012

Hello WordPress Meetup Members,

If you haven't already heard, WordCamp 2012 is sold out.  We have been sold out for over a week now. However, I do have some good news for you. There are a limited number of walk-in tickets available on Saturday morning.  Registration begins at 8:00 am and if you are interested, I would recommend that you arrive early.  Rumor has it that quite a few people plan to attend, yet on-site registrations are limited.  For more information about WordCamp and the schedule go to http://2012.phoenix.wordcamp.org

Another great WordPress learning opportunity is the Friday class.  WordCamp is hosting Friday classes in advance of the Saturday conference. Unfortunately, all of the Friday classes are also sold out with the exception of the WordPress 101 class.  Wordpress 101 is crafted for the absolute website novice, this class will be a hands-on start at the beginning and will cover everything from downloading, installing and setting up WordPress through launching your first site.  There are limited spots remaining in this class as well, so if you are interested, go to http://2012.phoenix.wordcamp.org/schedule/friday/ to sign up now.

For the second year in a row, WordCamp is also offering "WordCamp for Kids" on Sunday from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at Gangplank.  If you know of a future WordPress developer please consider introducing them now. If they are old enough to use the keyboard and navigate through webpages, then they can begin their own blog. Spots are currently available for this class, but they are limited.  For more information about WordCamp for kids, go to http://2012.phoenix.wordcamp.org/schedule/sunday/.

Hope to see some of our regular WordPress meetup group members there.  It will be a fantastic weekend of learning and connecting with the WordPress community.

Carol
