Our group is AROMATHERAPY AND ESSENTIAL OILS.  Learn, share and explore the many benefits of aromatherapy and essential oils through lotions, oils, sprays and diffusers. Discover and share how Aromatherapy and Essential Oils have many health benefits to help anxiety, stress, pain, fatigue, weight loss, studying and much more. We will have meet ups on aroma and essentials oils used with massage, meditation and balancing. We will have a variety of meet up's on blending lotions and oils as well as cooking and cleaning with essential oils. We are welcoming the community to come to learn and share with us on this holistic journey of wellness, cooking and cleaning with natural and safe essential oils.

Aromatherapy -A Science

Aromatherapy works with your sense of smell.

When you inhale, scent is picked up by your olfactory receptors and transmitted to your brain's limbic system, which is connected to memory and emotion. There may be a particular scent years ago that you may have come across and it will bring you straight back to that time.

Aromatherapy works on the same principle. Different essential oils have different properties-some calm and relax, while others awaken and stimulate.  The oils may be used separately or in combination to bring about the desired effect. When aromatherapy is used topically, like in aromatherapy massage, the oils are absorbed through the skin.

Store shelves are full of aromatherapy mood-enhancing products, but unless they contain pure essential oils, they're not truly aromatherapeutic-they just smell nice.

Essential oils contain the purest essence of the plants they're taken from.  The oils are obtained through a distillation process that uses water or steam.
