Tell us something about your experience with other cultures, travelling, or where you would like to go.

I was a religious studies major and art history minor. I went to a boarding secondary school and was host family for exchange students. I have family in Spain, Germany and Australia. I have been to Hawaii, US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Dominican Republic, England and Germany, but would love to go to Ireland, Denmark, China, Thailand, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Turkey, Scotland, Cuba, Iceland, France, Sweden, Russia, Spain, New Zealand, Japan, Australia, India, Brazil, Chile etc... I want to see the world and Would love to live abroad!! Leaning towards Chile as a possible option someday. But, we will see. I want my daughter to be well traveled and well educated in culture.

Do you speak other languages? If so, which languages do you speak? Are you interested in learning a new language? Which one?

I know German. Studied Spanish, Latin, and biblical Greek. A bit rusty on all. Yes, Russian has always seemed interesting to me. Hindu, Arabic , Icelandic, French, Romany etcetera... Would love to learn as many new language as I can! I enjoy dead languages and would like to also learn some originally based on pictographic characters ... Like Chinese and Japanese.

Is there something you can contribute to the group? Knowledge about a particular culture, place to host events, something else? (Most needed: people to host in their homes, or clubhouse if you have one... events like pot-lucks, movies, etc.)

Possibly. I'm about to move to downtown/uptown area with my husband and daughter. There are nice courtyards and a great coffee house (fluid) with a meeting area room specifically for this sort of thing. I was an intern for the religious life on campus at my college. I organized events that connected arts and religious traditions: mandalas, prayer beads, etc... I was a TA for the department and attached secondary school for world religions and women's spirituality. I also focused on East Asian region within my major - taking every course offered in EA and doing an independent study on Religions of Japan. I also love Ritual and Mythology (Victor Turner is a big influence for me). Applying my knowledge and religious scholar lens to the works and world around me.

Religious Studies scholar turned homemaker/SAHM turned Pre-Veterinary Medicine student. Language, literature, history, mythology, religion, art, cuisine, etc.. From around the world=Very interested!
