Hopi Dancers + Basket Weaving

Join me for some Free Native American performances - before the museum gets crowded! These Free days are VERY popular, so coming in the morning is a wise move! After the performances, you are welcome to browse this World Class Museum all day!  Since I am a Guild Member, I can guide you around if you wish, and show you my favorite exhibits.

1. 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - Demonstration: Navajo basket weaving by Christopher Black

2. Noon - Performance: Hopi Dance Group, led by Dwight Mase

The Heard Museum gives VERY few Free days (4), only in the summer, sponsored by Target! Take advantage of this Free day AND spend it in COLD AC (necessary for the displays)! Lots of Free parking (especially in the AM)!

NOTE:  The Build It! Lego exhibit is an additional $5 - ONLY if you choose to see it!  It is Optional.

Please join me to experience my favorite museum!

LOTS of people taking advantage of the free admission, which is great! It was interesting spending some time with the weaver brothers, watching them, and asking them detailed questions about their craft, which they said very few are still doing!

The Hopi dance was quite subdued compared to other dances, though still interesting, nonetheless. Wandered around different parts of the museum and the gift shop - some spectacular pieces of authentic art there! Enjoyed meeting some new members - thanks for coming all!

Kaz, sorry to have to cancel at the last minute, but I just went out to the garage and found my left rear tire is flat, and found a large wood staple in my right rear tire too, so I'm out of luck. Was looking forward to this event too.

Bummer Jim! It's not like you can take a bus or Light Rail from out there, either!

Meet me between 11 and 11:15 am IN FRONT of STEELE AUDITORIUM...Steele's MAIN DOOR faces West - I will be there, NOT at the other 2 doors!

DO being your cameras! There are 9 people coming from another getting parking earlier might be a good idea, as I expect a LOT of people will be coming - beat the crowds! It's going to be an interesting day!

I've just updated the Heard Museum event: Their Summer Sale begins July 1 with 20-40% off non-sale items! If you are really wanting to buy an authentic Native American piece of art, of some kind, you can wait till Sunday and see what's left when we go...or you can stop in the Gift Shop before then! NO admission to get into the Gift Shop, off the central courtyard, across from their excellent cafe.
