http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/2/2/d/0/event_59648912.jpegIt's envelope swap time! Let's face it, not many people communicate via postal mail anymore. That makes it even more special when it happens. When was the last time you received postal mail that wasn't a bill? Didn't it feel great to see that envelope and KNOW that it wasn't junk mail? Wasn't it wonderful to know that someone was thinking of you?

You can get all those good feelings and more when you send friendly snail mail. It is so much fun to send mail in a decorated envelope. I love that not only is the intended recipient going to enjoy it, all the postal workers who handle the envelope will get a little dose of art in their day. Perhaps a these decorated envelopes will even provoke a smile or too.

A friend of mine is hosting an art envelope swap. Basically, you decorate ten envelopes and send them to the hostess. You receive ten envelopes back, one from each of ten different artists. The envelopes are due October 31. We'll mail all our envelopes together and then gather again to admire the returns.

I will provide: blank envelopes, stickers, ink, markers, pencils, magazines for collage. I encourage you to bring your own paints, stamps, glue, collage images...as you'd like.
