I have kept a journal on and off since I was 12. As a Counseling Psychology graduate student in 1999 my Art Therapy teacher introduced me to Art Journals, I haven't looked back since! I use journaling to keep track of my life, thoughts and process in written word and images and find it very helpful to maintain me closer to myself. For years I remained on the fence about making art, longing for it, aching to be creative. My road to recovering my creative expression began while attending graduate school and has gotten stronger as the years pass. I have learned through this experience how importante it is to do something creative everyday in order to be grounded and sane. And, I also know how hard it is to keep an arts practice in such a busy and hectic life. Hence, this group! With this group I hope to create a safe space for all the participants to explore their creativity express themselves freely.
Welcome to the Art Journaling Group. I hope that attending our gatherings you get to explore your creativity and express yourself fully without restrain, fear or judgement. I will create a nurturing environment for you to delve deep into your SELF.
Our group is growing and consolidating. Let your friends know about it and send me questions and feedback. Ideas and themes for upcoming workshops are always welcomed!
