Intelligent bed sheets for a healthier life (Meeting organized by IBM Systems)

We are having another meeting sponsored by IBM Systems. More details are coming soon.

Talk 1: Intelligent bed sheets for a healthier life - Edward Shim (Studio 1 Labs)

Studio 1 Labs is an independent Canadian technology company headquartered in IBM Canada HQ. The company provides a digital health ecosystem using fabric sensor technology to turn everyday soft items into connected systems. In development is an intelligent bed sheet patient monitoring system that continuously monitors the health of patients without any attachments to the body.

Talk 2: Why infrastructure matters for AI (IBM Systems)
Few will disagree with the premise that the recent AI revolution may be attributed to 1) the exponential growth in the amount of available data and 2) the availability of heterogeneous/accelerated computing approaches.

In this talk we will review how infrastructure ultimately brought upon the 'Big Bang' for deep learning, discuss how it matters and contributes to what we are trying to accomplish today, and consider how the future of AI will also depend on next generation technology infrastructure innovation.
