I'm a closet artist, and I have never kept any of my work that I've created in adulthood. I have been blocked for a few years since becoming ill, and I am on a personal journey of healing in body, spirit and mind. Moving back to the Midwest after roughly 30 years, downsizing, taking better care of all of me and allowing my spiritual apurature to open up to more creative energy is part of my journey. I look forward to learning from the group. I hope I can offer something in return.
I took the class, and it has helped free me in so many ways. I continue to go back an do the exercercizes when I need to.
Water color, India ink, acrylic, color pencils and pens, graphite, charcoal and paper with a mixture of other ingredients :) I also design and make jewelry, glass decorations with precious metal, semi precious stones, glass beads, crystal and paint.
The creative process use to be a sort of emotional/spiritual/physical uncontrollable vomit of feelings and ideas that I couldn't hold in any longer, and always involved red wine, and almost always lasted for days at a time until I could think clearly enough again. A decade ago, I quit drinking, and I felt like I had to relearn who I was, which included my art. I feel it is deeply a part of who I am, but I believe it's a spiritual dance and energy that moves me forward now. I want to explore it more.
Hi, I'm Maggie, Mag for short. I've been working through the book on and off for about 3 or 4 years, and I find myself always coming back. The meetups are interesting, the classes transforming, and the people are wonderful.
The Artist's Way TC meetup is a wonderful group of creatives who are diverse in their artistic expressions. I am learning so much from some very wise, thoughtful and energy filled people. I only hope I can offer some small particle, as well. I'm very grateful for Amy and Heather, and the guidance they both provide. Great group!
