So...it's finally happening! The long awaited, much anticipated Project: Matchmaking
event is taking place on Saturday, October 16th
at NYU's ITP department. A HUGE thanks to all of the organizations who submitted proposals. We were truly blown away by the caliber of projects that came our way, which made it hard to narrow down, and, ultimately, underscored the need for this kind of initiative.
More details about the event are below, but I'd also like to take this opportunity to mention some areas where we could still use some help:
- Spread the word!
We are looking for creative talent to donate their time and skills to a variety of projects -- designers, developers, social media strategists, videographers and more. Please send the event announcement on to any people, organizations, listservs, etc. you think may be interested in participating. Here's the link: http://www.meetup.com/Arts-Culture-and-Technology/calendar/14925651/
- Help us find sponsors!
We are looking for sponsors big and small to help finance this event. It's a great opportunity for companies to speak to an audience that lives at the intersection of art and technology and promote continued technological advancement in the cultural sector. Please get in touch if you have any leads and want more info.
- Write about it!
Or have a friend write about it. Whether it's for a publication or on your personal blog, we want to spread the word about this initiative and celebrate the amazing community we've built together over the past two years. Please send us the link if you write something and we'll post it on our new website!
Speaking of which, yes, that's right--ArtsTech now has its very own website at www.artstechmeetup.com
and a Facebook page
! (Major props to Jaki Levy, Biana Bakman, and Jon Lazar for their help in setting those up.)
Thanks, as always, to all of you for your continued support and enthusiasm. Feel free to get in touch with any questions, suggestions or concerns.
