Moderated a panel on on-line auctions at the Foundation Center. Would that be of interest? Greetings ArtsTechies! Hope you enjoyed this weekend's gorgeous weather. I've got some exciting announcements to share with you all. 1. We're planning an ArtsTech meetup for November on the subject of *Digital Tools for Fundraising*. If you have any suggestions, personal experiences or case studies you'd like to send my way, please do! 2. The fine bunch of folks I work with at *The Creators Project<http://www.thecre...; *and I have been hard at work on an* **epic art and technology festival*<http://www.thecre... happening in DUMBO next weekend (October 15 & 16). Here's a few reasons why you should come: - There will be music, art installations, film screenings and panels all FREE with RSVP<http://www.thecre...; - There's going to be a bunch of amazing bands playing including: Florence & The Machine, Four Tet, The Field, DJ sets from Justice, and The Juan MacLean and lots more<http://www.thecre...; . - I've helped curate several art installations and film screenings. The art installations, in particular, are going to be massive and not to be missed! - I'll be hosting 2 awesome panels on Sunday, October 16th - *In Between Worlds: The future of virtual reality, public space and architecture *- Sunday, 1:30pm Virtual and physical reality are collapsing in on one another faster than ever before with the digital world continuously informing our physical world and our physical world sprouting endless extensions of itself into the virtual world. What sort of structures can exist in this gray area between the two worlds? What kind of laws and experiences can govern that world? These are questions being explored by today's artists, architects, and futurists. Speakers: UVA, Undisclosable, SOFTLab, Factory Fifteen *The Artist As Researcher *- Sunday, 3:00pm Today's artists engage in a process of creative exploration with modern technology that's not too far removed from the kind of inquiry-based experimental methods employed by scientists in the world's laboratories. By investigating technology's various potentialities and how these tools are shaping and re-defining our human experience, artists are playing a critical role in making technology more human, and discovering the human within technology. Speakers: Zach Lieberman, Cantoni & Crescenti, Quayola, Intel Hope you guys can make it out to some or all of this. Please note, all the events are FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. There are no VIP passes to be had here, but since Sunday doesn't have any bands playing, it should be a much more relaxed time to come out and enjoy some stimulating panels and film screenings.
